When I switched to a plant-based diet and experienced its tremendous positive changes that I never knew could happen, I thought, why not also detox my beauty cabinet and personal care products?
A plant-based lifestyle is not just a diet, it also has something to do with the products you use, and apply on your body.
With a wide array of products that brands from all over the world release every chance they get, claiming, “Product X, with a new and improved formula,” or “Limited Edition, Product Y, perfect for Christmas winter,” or even, “Product Z, making your skin smoother, softer, and more hydrated than ever before,” are these really intended to make your skin better? Are there any ingredients in them that are harmful when used for a long-term period?
Researching about organic products fit for long-term usage, I found one brand that piqued my interest and decided to try some of their products. Little did I know that this brand will be the one that will help me follow a healthy lifestyle and that my beautiful people, is called, Miessence.

Miessence is an Australian Certified Organic (ACO), Australian Certified Organic (ACO/International Federation of Organic Culture or IFOAM Accredited), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Accredited, and Certified Organic Cosmetic Accredited, based in Australia.
Miessence uses organic ingredients in all of their products, and few examples of these are fruits, grains, vegetables, algae, seaweeds, seeds, legumes, flowers, among others, and all of which are in their complete ingredients listing, arranged by category on the Miessence’s website.
In human anatomy, the skin is the largest organ in our body. With that said, isn’t it essential also to give importance on how we take care of the one that protects our internal organs and helps fight infection?
It was June of 2014, when I discovered, started using, and became an independent representative of Miessence, I never went back to using products containing chemicals that I cannot even read or pronounce. All the items that they are selling use ingredients that come from our Mother Nature, and because all these are natural, they are very beneficial for our skin.
From superfoods, skincare, haircare, body, and oral care, to cosmetics and home care, Miessence has everything you need to maintain a healthy plant-based lifestyle.
To give you a quick guide on what products to use, I’m going to mention what I use that has been helping me live a healthy life.
On top of my plant-based diet, I add three teaspoons of superfoods from the Vitality Pack, which feeds me nutrients I need every morning. It is raw, vegan-certified, organic, and tastes great. The Vitality Pack is a mix of 3 types of superfoods: Deep Greens Alkalising Superfood, the BerryRadical Antioxidant Superfood, and the InLiven Probiotic Superfood.
Miessence also has skincare products that cater to all sorts of skin concerns such as dry and mature skin (rejuvenating line), oily skin (purifying line), sensitive skin (soothing line), normal to combination skin (balancing line).
I, myself, use the soothing line and I love it! I haven’t gotten any blemishes, and it keeps my face moisturized.
And it does not stop to skincare alone. Miessence also has hair care products that address normal to dry or to oily, and even problematic scalps. Their Hair Styling Gel also stays well and even smells like roses.
I use the Hair Repair for my hair before blow-drying, and it keeps it soft, shiny and also smells like roses.
The Flower Shampoo has avocado oil, it’s very mild and can even be used as a bubble bath.
For the body and oral care, I use the Mint Toothpaste and Lemon Toothpaste. They are free from any fluoride and detergents. They smell and taste refreshingly good.
The Sunflower Body Wash is incredible, particularly for those who have eczema or dry skin.
Miessence also has deodorants. I use the Aroma Free Roll-on Deodorant, and I’m beyond satisfied with it.
I use the Intensive Body Cream. The smell of geranium and shea butter is marvelous.
To keep the bugs away when going on a nature trip, use Bushflower Body Spray, which is free from toxic chemicals and safe for children.
For those interested in cosmetics, Miessence also has them, and I use almost everything.
For home care products, they also have a dishwasher soap, probiotic cleaning concentrate, and even an air freshener.
And for those with digestive issues and allergies and intolerances to wheat, dairy, eggs, and soy, I can attest that their Complete Protein Powder is easily digestible, high in protein and is raw, vegan, gluten-free, hypoallergenic, and has no artificial flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives.
Miessence has been around for over ten years. Not all brands will help you in determining what makes up a specific product; but not Miessence, because they let you, their consumer, know and comprehend what is going in and on your body, which is all healthy.
